We’re sure we’ve all been there on the road before; you’re moving along, having a great day, singing along to your favorite tunes, when suddenly you hear a ding coming from the dashboard and realize that you’re low on fuel. It can be annoying, but luckily your Toyota is prepared to take you a long way when it’s running on empty. Toyota Gas Mileage with a Low Fuel Light

Before we can answer this question, we should explain how your Toyota’s tank works. Your fuel levels are usually monitored by a ball that lowers as you drive, to correspond with losing gas through normal use. Your ball will rest at the bottom of your tank when there’s about a gallon or so left, and that’s when you’ll see your “Low Fuel” light start flashing on your dashboard.

Now, due to high tech innovation, the majority of Toyota vehicles are capable of traveling above 30 miles on the highway on a single tank. We don’t recommend pushing it this far, but when you see that light flashing you can expect to get another 30-50 miles of use before you need to find a gas station.
