Two engines are offered on the new Tacoma. Standard equipment includes a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Also available is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that increases the horsepower to 278 and the torque to 265 pound-feet.
Toyota offers the 2017 Tacoma with a variety of standard and available safety features. Models can be equipped with systems like a tire pressure monitor, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, rear parking assist, a rearview camera, antilock brakes and driver and front passenger seat mounted side airbags.
When equipped with the four-cylinder engine, the Tacoma can earn up to 19 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highways. Choosing the V6 engine drops these numbers slightly, earning an estimated 18 miles per gallon on the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highways.
Toyota offers the 2017 Tacoma in six trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited and TRD Pro.
